This Privacy Policy describes how the iOS app Is This a ScAIm? (the "App"), published by Maxwell Bade, handles your information. We collect the minimum we need to make the App work, and we don't sell your data.
The App lets you paste a message (text, email, DM, listing, screenshot) and returns an AI-generated assessment of whether the message looks like a scam.
When you tap "Check," the text content of the message you paste is sent to our
backend at scaim-proxy.vercel.app, which forwards it to
Google's Gemini API to generate the assessment. The result is sent back
to the App and displayed to you.
The App displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use a device-level advertising identifier (IDFA) to show more relevant ads. On first launch, the App shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt — you can decline, and the App will continue to work the same way.
For details on AdMob's data practices, see Google's policy for partner sites.
The App offers an optional one-time unlock and an optional subscription via Apple's StoreKit. Purchase transactions are handled by Apple; we receive only the anonymous receipt needed to grant entitlements. We do not receive your name, billing address, or payment method.
The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Because the App does not maintain a user account or store your messages on our servers, there is generally no personal information for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. You can delete on-device history at any time from the App's Settings screen, and you can uninstall the App at any time to remove all local data.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
